Temple member Irv Adler will share the story of tracing his Viennese roots after the Holocaust in search of information about his grandmother and family on Tuesday, June 6 at 7:00pm at the Temple, 5200 Old Mill Road, Fort Wayne.  Irv's search began with family history research on a trip with his wife, Fran, to Austria, which led to the subsequent discovery of letters written by Irv's grandmother from 1938 to 1941 and her eventual death as a victim of the Holocaust. Sponsored by the Temple's Adult Education Committee, Irv's talk will trace the path he followed to discover, meet, and get to know these lost, and now found, family members.

Kosher Around Town

Aldi's on Lima Road carries packaged crescent rolls, biscuits and pie crusts that are heckshered (marked Kosher). Very exciting news since no other store has the same items available for the Kosher consumer.

The new Fresh Thyme Farmer's Market on Coldwater at Coliseum has a nice selection of heckshered cakes, prepared foods and cheeses for the Kosher consumer as well.

Earth Fare on Dupont Road has Kosher turkey and meats available.  Call Zach Hull at Earth Fare for more information.  260-416-3550

Also, the Kroger Marketplace at Coventry is still bringing in fresh Kosher meat and deli on a regular basis.  Kroger also carries small containers of Pareve coffee whitener (Rich's) in the frozen food section.

Gordon's Food Service on Washington Center Road carries Pareve whip topping (Rich's) in the frozen food section.  GFS also carries red and green food containers from Cambro with blue available by order.  These containers can be used, according to color, for kosher purposes of separating meat, milk, and Pareve products.

Please support all of these stores in their efforts to help the Jewish community of Fort Wayne.
